GLOBAL WARMING INCONVENIENT TRUTH

An “Inconvenient Truth” is a documentary film that has won an award in the American academy as a beautiful film that indicates that global warming is true, although we do not want to take the time to deal with this truth. It is presented by the U.S. vice president Al Gore. Davis Guggenheim directed the movie and it was released in both, Los Angeles and New York in 2006. Global warming was conveyed in an “Inconvenient Truth” and the movie highlighted the intensity of global warming and its effects. “Inconvenient Truth” has proved its worth as this movie has also captured the reviews and opinions of various scientists.

The film, “Inconvenient Truth”, is an eye opener to global warming. This was released by Paramount Home Entertainment and the film earned about forty-nine million dollars at the box office. Inconvenient truth was appreciated by the public and also by many scientists; although it did also received the criticism of a few skeptics who saw the film as nothing but hype and exaggeration.

This was the 4^th documentary film after Fahrenheit, March of the Penguins and Sicko that attempted to reveal the truth of global warming. “Inconvenient Truth” stresses on the efforts that Al Gore extends to educate people about the seriousness of this climatic disaster. This film presents calculations and forecasts regarding climatic changes and its prospective disasters. He has weaved in certain incidents that are very moving, such as the death of his sister due to lung cancer and his son’s accident. Gore has included some comic effects by capturing the Futurama episode of ‘Crimes of the Hot’ to narrate global warming.

“Inconvenient Truth” shows Gore’s discussions relating to politics as well as economics with regard to global warming, and explains the outcome of greenhouse gases. He mentions how the greenhouse gases are causing negative corollary to the planet. This film also rebuts the critics who disagree with global warming through an illustration of an ice sheet melting in Greenland. This shows an increase in sea levels by 20 ft; leading to flooding and the washing away of the coastal areas. Moreover, Greenland waters can obstruct the warm currents that keep northern Europe warm and instead spark sudden dramatic cooling effects. However, Gore concludes “Inconvenient Truth” in a convenient way by saying that appropriate actions will be appreciated as the planet highly needs attention. This can be done by planting vegetation and conserving electricity, fossil fuels and water.
